Taming the Anger Monster
Taming the Anger Monster by Anne Davidson is an article that explains why people of America are angry. It gives the readers examples of what causes someone’s anger which is technology, lack of sleep and tension. Technology, lack of sleep and tensions contributes to a persons anger because technology is ever growing, Americans do not get enough sleep and days offs of work as much as their European counterparts and tension because people feel as though they do not have enough time for themselves. The article also explains how people can control their anger better which is patience and common sense. It explains that, to control their anger better, people have to remember that they are not always in control of annoying situations and that they need to stay calm. The article advises people to practice certain exercises and activities that will help them with their anger such as golf or running on a treadmill. People have to better their self control when dealing with their anger.
Anne Davidson made some very good point in her article Taming the Anger Monster.
I agree that as a society, we get a lot more angrier with such simple situations. I also agree that technology, lack of sleep and tensions are a great cause to our anger. I believe that we must remember that there are bigger and better accomplishments that need to be succeeded before losing our marbles every second. However, I disagree with her statement that patience and common sense is all that is needed in order to help our anger. I believe that many people need help and guidance when it comes to their anger. Many people lack in common sense as well as patience so it would be hard for them to teach themselves this method of thinking. Society does not stop for anyone, so many people need help being able to continue in this society without being constantly angry.
